Dr. Dale H. Bruce, 86, of Stuarts Draft departed this life on August 7, 2017 at his home.

Born May 8, 1931 in Connelsville, PA, he was the son of the late Richard T. and Mattie V. Bruce.

He was a U.S. Veteran having served his country honorably with the Navy and rising to the rank of Dental Technician Third Class. Dr. Bruce was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and practiced dentistry in the Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft areas for 30 years.

Born May 8, 1931 in Connelsville, PA, he was the son of the late Richard T. and Mattie V. Bruce.

He was a U.S. Veteran having served his country honorably with the Navy and rising to the rank of Dental Technician Third Class. Dr. Bruce was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and practiced dentistry in the Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft areas for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella R. Bruce; daughter, Becky B. Lamb; son, Steven W. Bruce; two brothers, Dr. Richard T. Bruce and Dr. Douglas Bruce.

Survivors include his wife, Loraine H. Bruce; two daughters, Cheryl B. Hutchens (Dr. James Hutchens) and Debby G. Bruce (Eddie Seaman); daughter-in-law, Karen A. Bruce; six grandchildren, Dale A. Bruce (Jamie), Eric S. Bruce (Caitlin), Ashley N. Ellinger (Jeff), Dr. Grant T. Hutchens, Jenna E. Hutchens, Aaron M. Lamb; four great grandchildren, Andrew Bruce, Alivia Bruce, Mason Bruce and Colin Bruce; two sisters-in-law, Millie M. Bruce and Emily L. Bruce; brother-in-law, Wilson J. Humphreys; numerous nieces, nephews and special friend, Sheree H. Gillespie; caregivers, Nikki Cash, Kelly Inzunza and Samantha Meade.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Augusta Memorial Park with Rev. Ryan Schaeffer officiating. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.

There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
